AI Is Transforming Healthcare, and We’re Here For It

It’s no secret that automation, deep-machine learning, and artificial intelligence have made leaps and bounds by way of integrating into everyday society. Everything from the cars we drive, our mobile devices, our computers, to even gaming, we’re seeing some form of AI take hold, and augment our everyday interactions and experiences.

The healthcare industry is no exception, and it’s growing at an exponential rate. Earlier this year, Warren Wang, Senior VP & President, APAC at Boston Scientific published an article about the latest advancements in AI in Healthcare, and moreover, the lucrative ventures & startups pertaining to the role AI is playing in the healthcare industry.

A 2018 report by CB Insights has revealed quite the rush to invest in all things AI within the healthcare industry, and that rush to invest doesn’t seem to be slowing anytime soon. Over the last 5 years, AI startups have raised upwards of $4.3B across 576 deals, and already the EU has recently announced their intention to invest upwards of $24B by 2020.

AI diagnosis seems to be an area of real interest by way of Stanford University, DeepMind by Google, and Oxford University, just to name a few.

As we continue to see AI integrate within the healthcare industry, we’re also paying close attention to how these latest integrations benefit patient experiences, as well as optimizing patient & practitioner relationships.
